Rice Fergus Miller is seeking an Architect/Project Manager with a passion for Public Safety and Civic projects. Essential Functions:

  • Takes part in the hiring and coordination of consultants
  • Manages project financial performance
  • Manages staffing needs within the Fire & Emergency Services team and coordinates staffing needs with other Project Managers in the firm
  • Ability to effectively partner with jurisdictional staff, project teams and clients
  • Lead communication and coordination of consultant activities and deliverables
  • Represent the firm in communication with clients, consultants and team members
  • Must be able to prioritize time efficiently and work collaboratively with clients and team members
  • Forms positive relationships with staff, peers, and senior leadership to support the mission, vision, values, and performance standards of the firm
  • Actively engages with staff on updates and news, as well as involving staff in decisions and work teams
  • Provides staff feedback and recognition when appropriate
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to participate in a collaborative team environment


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Architecture from an accredited program, Master’s a plus
  • Licensed architect
  • Passion for working on public safety and civic projects of varying sizes and complexities with public bid experience
  • Background in planning and the technical aspects of architecture
  • Experienced in project management; contracts, scope, schedule, fee management, workplan development, staff and resources management
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Minimum of 15 years of public safety and civic design, planning and management
